3 new 3D prints: part 4/4: My version of the missing arched Town House: The Sweet Shop

Part 3 can be read here:

Part 3

What I described in Part 1, was exactly what happened: my eldest print filament, which I bought years ago, which was the last one available in that color then, meaning it had a long shelf life before it was sold, became brittle. My best guess is that it was about 8 - 10 years old. All my filament is stored with dessicant, and dried for 2 hours before it's first use, so it was not wet, which also makes it brittle. It crumbled and got horribly stuck in all parts leading up to and into the extruder. Not just clogged, but broken off in the extruder before it can get hot and pulled through, or poked with a special needle to declog whilst it's piping hot. Ugh. So, hub had to help, as I can't physically do that anymore, as broken bits and pieces got stuck everywhere. It took hours to get that fixed and no printing could be done till he had time to do so!

Since we do plan to move in a few years, this filament disaster made me decide to print as much filament as possible, as it seems it's fairly useless to keep it till after the move. Items for hub, our current and future home too, besides Sylvanian additions. Almost all of it is gone!

Part 1 described the 3 arched store I spotted on the official Town series advert pics. So, I created my own version. It's a 4 level & wider version though, as I have too much to fill it up with, lol!

Candy & cookies were available in 5 places in JollyOaksField. I figured it would be much more fun to combine it all in one shop. The Cinema has a popcorn stand anyway.

I had marble filament and it was perfect to represent an old building, since it looks more like granite if you ask me, lol! There are many choices in marble filament by the way, this building has white and grey. The front also has a texture which I added to it.

The arch decorations itself remind me of some foamy candy my dad and I ate when I was young, as it is an Easter treat in the Dutch area. It tastes like marshmellows, but a bit chewier and it went a bit more gooey in your mouth.

The street in front has no vehicles ... yet ... but I had a fab idea, which I will show in the next blog. Also, a bonus blog to this series will follow, after buying filament to print something for hub which was disappointing. Yet, it didn't go to waste!

The side walls look old and a bit decayed. This represents one of the oldest buildings in town.

I designed a flower pattern floor for it:

I had all furbishments, but some had to be recolored, and then decorated. I had some paint left, which I also do not want to tag along to move and it just sufficed, yay!

I lacked some sweets to fill it all up to the max, and discovered that nail art offers plenty of dead cheap candy and cookies, instead of buying the exact identical ones as miniatures. They sell dirt cheap tiny bags for coins, which can serve well as candy bags too. Wayyyyyyy less expensive than buying miniatures.

Enjoy the oversight from the back and all the details too!
