Additional Town buildings
I always keep looking at all of my Town houses to see what could make it even better. It's a happy gathering of Town series buildings: real, rip-off lookalikes, plus 3D printed. One thing which always struck me, was the lack of a few colors to make it look more complete. I am not into dark colors, except for details, like a dome or a rim. The Town series seems to have come to an end, unfortunately, even with the rip-off brands. So, I bought some dirt cheap last items to feed my OCD, as it just would not shut up, lol!
My Xmas store is a square setup made from stores in matching colors, except the old pink part of the Grand Department Store. That always stuk out like a sore thumb to me, so finally some courage was applied to split it up. There are already plenty of colors going on in that large assembly of buildings and old pink was just one too many.
Now, the xmas store is more unified. I lack the space in my house to make a wide U-shape out of the lot, but in my final diorama after we move, that will happen. Square shaped is it for now.
I put the old pink building closer to the other pink building I have.
I bought the last orange rip-off set of 2 houses I could find for 1/3 of its original price tag. It had a great looking tiny transparent fenced patio with nice details, but I figured it would look way better as a balcony, so I designed one to print which fitted the railings and added fancy supports to hold its weight.
I loved the transparent parts it has! As it did not have enough of them to complete 2 stores, I prefered to make one as decent as possible. I did not want 2 orange houses either, so one was sprayed beige and copper and was added to the xmas store: see the first pic: the building left next to the pale yellow.
I bought some of the last pink buildings without doors, as they would make a great addition to my Cake Shop. It already has several entries, so I wanted a side building without doors. I lacked a white building, so it was spray painted.
I also created and printed some cakes for it, from old models I had kept for a rainy day. Those cakes were embellished and I think they look fab! Hope you won't be hungry too much now!
So beautiful! I love your collection of buildings and cakes! I love how the candy cart holds pastries now, and I love and remember your fabulous diner made from two clinics!
