Tidbits 2023

At the start of my collection, 6 years ago, I made wish lists of "want", "maybe", "only when it costs way less", and eventually "didn't know this existed before". This year, I plowed through the few items left on those lists. I now only look for new items which I like. Since they seem to produce plenty of children inspired new themes and way less on making adult collectors drool, there are only a seldom few new items which entice me lately. 

Finally managed to add a Calbee bear, on the left.

XMAS truck. Not Sylvanian, but a cute addition to my Xmas shop.


1:14 scooters. I already had 2 and bought some extra. I always regretted not finding more back then, and I recently bumped onto some more after years of checking regularly online. The helmets are keychains originally. The first is a moped which I had, but I added a character who is about to get on the back seat, because I found this way too cute helmet with unicorns to add.


The new seals are riding the blue bike with sidecar which I already had.


The rest of the bikes and helmets are new.






Postman. I have one driving around JollyOaksField on a bike, but my post office needed an extra mail person anyway. 


Calico Critters Katie Kitty Ballerina, linked with the Angelina Ballerina series.


Curled ear cats.


Mini tree, replica of the library tree. I wanted a treehouse for my toy store, this was perfect.


A yellow campervan. Had my eye on buying one for a looooong time, but wasn't willing to buy till I found one reasonably priced.



An old style penguin. I bought a "child", as the height is acceptable in comparison to modern adult Sylvanian penguin. I find it very peculiar that they made the original penguins so big. Hence why I never wanted to spend a ton on an entire family of 4, which are sold the most.

    I very much enjoyed the pics, Karine! Congratulations on the Calbee bear, and those scooters are super!

    If you're held up awaiting your new printer but would still like to add to your blogspot blog, maybe you could add a few posts, transferring & copy/pasting from your Wix site. It would be nice to revisit your past triumphs, accessible from one place. You've produced some great stuff on the old site and these could be celebrated anew.

Again, a compilation about a series of blogs I made about this topic, after extensive research, compiled to offer relevant data only, and improved it even a bit. I split all the data over 2 blogs. I discovered the Angelina series in 2021 after I already collected a lot of Sylvanian Families and fell in love with them instantly. You can see the likeness to Sylvanian, but they are not real ones. Community Centre 3D printed: Part 4/4.

Biggest and longest project so far  to design and print! Took me just over 1.5 year from start to finish! I do have another smaller big project coming up in a few weeks, with another vid. Since it's hot here, I will resume printing once the temp goes down, to keep the house nice and cool. Printing all day makes the house a tad warmer!  I have an even larger project coming up as soon as a new version of a multicolor printer comes out, hopefully by the end of this year. I uploaded my vid on Dailymotion, it was rejected because of copyright issues. Duh, all of it is made by me and there is no music! Just AI, sigh. My counter claim was rejected within a minute with the same copy/paste they always send when their AI detects "something". Made a small change and tried again, to have the same outcome. Not even a real person checks it. It was removed before the counterclaim was submitted!! Doing that was useless!  Reluctantly, I tried Vimeo, and it was rejected because of its size

Asian Sylvanians and 3D prints.

Again, an effort to offer an improved recap of old blogs, all combined in one. My love for Asian gardens made me produce a temp setup bonsai garden. This was before I had a 3D printer, which could have helped a lot, but one does what one can with available materials.  It started by wrapping a table with kitchen foil, and installing the landscape lay of the land with used (and cleaned, lol) Chinese food containers. The upside down plate in the pond was put in temporary, so I would be reminded that there will be a small island in there.  The pond is a thin cutting board, with plexi on top. The grass was made wet to become sloppy, so it could be decorated over the landscape. When the grass dried, it was ready to decorate. The waterfall was created with the use of sandwich foil. Water droplets were added to the pond to take pictures. The sandy pond rim was made wet too, to make it look realistic.
